Search Console Action Plan: Turn Queries Into SEO Tasks

A workflow to turn Google Search Console queries, impressions, CTR, and positions into a weekly SEO action plan.

Search Console is not a dashboard to admire. It is an action queue. Every query should lead to one decision: improve the page, create support content, rewrite the snippet, or ignore it.

Sort by opportunity

Start with queries that have impressions and average position between 6 and 20. These are close enough to move. Then separate CTR problems from content depth problems.

  • Low CTR: rewrite title and meta description.
  • Position 8 to 20: expand the page around the query.
  • Many impressions on wrong page: create or redirect intent.
  • Good query, weak internal links: add links from related pages.

Add GEO to the plan

For every SEO task, add one GEO layer: a direct answer, FAQ schema, a definition block, or a comparison table. The same page can win clicks and become easier to cite.
